Ibelisse Guardia Ferragutti and Jochem van Tol are a duo of international stature that develops new music and interdisciplinary, music-theatrical projects at the intersection of contemporary electronic music, improvised acoustic music, physical theatre, film and visual arts. We draw our inspiration from the rituals of the Andes Mountains, from the silence and architecture of Japanese gardens and from the English women and Dutch men who were at the origin of the electric and electronic music of the 20th century.
Since 2007, Ibelisse and Jochem have performed internationally in a wide range of concert venues, festivals, theatre stages and museum spaces. They exhibited extensively abroad, especially in Japan alongside artists such as Yoko Ono, Mamoru, John Cage, Yukio Fujimoto, Francis Alys, Germaine Kruip, Toshi Ichiyanagi and Ken'ichi Nakagawa. Additionally, they have participated in various projects, residencies and bands at festivals such as Rewire, Lowlands, Tokyo’s Experimental Art&Sound Festival, Meltdown Festival and Le Guess Who?.
