Tony Lugo (b. 1987, Miami, FL) is a Baltimore-based interdisciplinary artist whose practice is based on the development and implementation of generative systems.
The self-designed software and emergent technologies
he employs facilitate dialogues around the interchange
of virtual and physical environments and collective nostalgia.
Most recently, Lugo's work has increasingly emphasized the sociopolitical and analytical tensions between percussion and analysis to explore cultural diffusion as synthetic materials.
Recent projects include Vertical with Mats Gustafsson (SUPERPANG, 2022), Synthetic Percussion Works
(ETAT, 2022), and FEED with Patrick Shiroishi (SUPERPANG, 2023).
