Julio Cesar Palacio, the man behind SUN COLOR is a Venezuela-born Barcelona sound artist and experimental composer who uses a mix of analogue and digital processing to meld abstract arrhythmic music, microtonal composition, and field recordings.
This self-taught musician-sound artist is an explorer of the dynamics of sound and their shaping possibilities for the creation of acoustic environments giving a special attention of sound spatialization.
JCP started working in his early musical projects where the improvisation and free forms were predominant (playing trumpet, guitar and electronics), but his language started to change after entering in the world of modular synthesis. Since then he have been developing his compositions based on the Modular synthesizer mixed together with vocal sounds and field recordings.
This sound activist is also well known for open the 1st and only shop in Barcelona (and Spain) dedicated to Modular Synthesizers.
